How it worksAboutFAQ
Pricing transparency

Every kobo. Itemised. Always.

We show the breakdown because we don't want you to wonder. Here's exactly what the number on every product page is made of.

On this page
  • What's in your landed price
  • How shipping is allocated
  • Customs duty bands
  • FX locking + buffer
  • Our margin
  • Worked example

What's in your landed price

Every product page shows one price, the full landed cost. That single number is the only thing you pay. It includes:

  • Supplier cost, what we pay the supplier in China in CNY, converted at the FX rate locked at order time.
  • Container shipping share. Your per-m³ share of the sea freight rate from China to Apapa.
  • Customs duty, calculated per HS code from current NCS duty bands.
  • Clearing & port handling, per-kg + flat clearing handled by our NAGAFF-affiliated broker.
  • KRATED margin. Our cut. Disclosed on every order, never hidden.

How shipping is allocated

The container has a known shipping cost from Guangzhou/Shenzhen/Shanghai to Apapa. We divide it by the container's usable volume and allocate per item based on how much space it actually takes. A 0.012 m³ knife block costs much less to ship than a 0.061 m³ cookware set, and your bill reflects that.

Customs duty bands

Each catalog item is tagged with an HS code and a duty band. Bands we actively use:

BandRateExample categories
Band 1010%Tableware, fabric storage, textiles
Band 1515%Cookware, knives, kitchen tools
Band 2020%Electrical appliances

FX locking + the 4% buffer

The CNY → NGN rate locks the moment you check out. Whatever the naira does between your order and our supplier payment, your bill doesn't change. To make that promise honest, we include a 4% disclosed buffer in the FX line. If naira holds or strengthens, we keep the buffer in v1; if naira falls hard, the buffer absorbs the shock so you pay nothing extra.

Our margin (and why we show it)

Standard categories carry a 12–18% margin. Lower-velocity or higher-risk items can carry 18–25%. The exact figure shows up on every order page as a discrete line item.

We show the margin because the brand thesis is "no hidden costs." A reasonable margin disclosed reads as honesty; an unreasonable margin hidden reads as a knife in the back. So we disclose.
